“Here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.” (Heb 13:14)
On the last Sunday of September of every year Catholic Church is celebrating World Day of Migrants and Refugees. This year, as the title for his annual message, the Holy Father has chosen “Building the Future with Migrants and Refugees”, where he stood again for the rights and inclusion of refugees, displaced persons, and victims of trafficking worldwide. Full letter can be download on the web page of the Vatican’s Migrants & Refugees Section – https://migrants-refugees.va/world-day-of-migrants-refugees/
This year JRS beneficiaries and staff have joined UNHCR and formed joined football team for the humanitarian tournament organized in Belgrade resort Ada Ciganlija. Even we did not reach a first position on the tournament, it was a team of future champions. Boys who were forced to leave their homes in Asia and Africa have found a strength and faith to start their living in Serbia, in country they did not know before arrived.
Tournament was opportunity to furthermore promote integration and joint future with refugees and migrants who we accompany and support in our Integration House for unaccompanied children and in the Transitional Accommodation project for the youth asylum seekers.
