Last weekend once again showed the power of community – learning, connection, and mutual support that help people feel more at home in Serbia. Through both outdoor activities and practical learning sessions, participants found new ways to grow, share, and support one another.
On Saturday, our conversation club went on the road. Surrounded by sunshine, fallen leaves, and good company, participants practiced Serbian, exchanged stories, looked for mushrooms, roasted potatoes, and shared memories of similar outings back home.
A big thank you to the volunteers from Radosna for helping organize this joyful day.
On Sunday, we continued the weekend in a more practical tone with a seminar on renting housing in Serbia, led by Ukrainian realtor Mrs. Irina. Finding safe and affordable housing is one of the biggest challenges for refugees and displaced persons, especially when navigating unfamiliar legal systems and rental practices. This seminar provided clear, useful information and answered many real-life questions about renting in Serbia. Participants appreciated both the knowledge and the welcoming atmosphere:
“Very interesting and helpful! I really enjoyed this and would love to join your next events!”
These moments remind us how learning and connection go hand in hand, whether in nature or in the classroom.
