This month (March 2022) we accommodated new children, age from 10 to 16, who arrived in Serbia from Asia and Middle East. Upon arrival of the new children to our shelter for unaccompanied children – Integration House “Pedro Arrupe” – our team had a numerous tasks related to evaluation of the psychological and health situation of the children, and to resolve their legal status in Serbia.

JRS Team has assisted in preparing legal documents for the humanitarian stay of children in Serbia as the beneficiaries of our Integration House.

Cultural Mediator/Translator interviewed children to see if they have relatives on the route or in the country of origin, and are they in contact with them. Children were also introduced with daily life in Integration House.

Since majority of new children arrive with lice and scabies, our team is accompanying them to medical exam, applying medicaments, and taking them to control medical exams.

New children were introduced to other children in Integration House. Some of them speak the same language and they are assisting during first days in our house.
