We understand that supporting young refugees means more than helping them succeed in school, it means helping them navigate life. That’s why our team provides ongoing advising, school follow-up, and practical support in everyday matters, from assisting with homework to opening a bank account.
A. is a young beneficiary who was accommodated in our Integration House, where he received not only a safe place to live but also consistent guidance and support for his education and personal development. With our help, A. overcame challenges both in and out of the classroom, gaining confidence and independence along the way.
With our assistance, he is about to open his first bank account. This is a significant milestone that will represent not only financial independence but also a deepening sense of belonging and confidence in his new environment. Opening a bank account is often a challenge for refugees in Serbia due to administrative barriers and complex procedures, which makes this step all the more significant.
These days, together with A. we are organizing an exciting event: a joint lecture and a visit to the Hall of Science, bringing together local and refugee children for a day of discovery, learning, and connection.
His journey is a reminder that when we support young people holistically – with education, life skills, and a sense of community, they can not only prosper, but also give back in meaningful and inspiring ways.
