In anticipation of one of the two most important holidays in the Islamic community, Eid al-Fitr, the Integration House team has once again made an effort this year to organize a traditional lunch. Since its inception, the Arrupe House has been preparing this meal in collaboration with its residents to allow them to experience the spirit of this holiday and celebrate it with dignity and in a joyful atmosphere.

The JRS Team is already familiar with the customs associated with this holiday, and it has often happened that many of our beneficiaries fast before this celebration, thus introducing us to their culture, religion, and customs.

As already mentioned, the holiday is always celebrated at the Integration House, and many of our residents go to the mosque for the morning prayer before this lunch, after which the holiday is celebrated. The fast preceding this holiday is established so that individuals can strive to improve the quality of their spiritual life and make an additional effort during Ramadan to emphasize all virtues and moral values, to forgive and renounce everything that can be called negative traits such as hatred, envy, and selfishness.

Together with two new residents and our old residents, with their help in preparing the meal, a real feast was made with a cheerful mood, enjoyed by both beneficiaries and JRS staff.

This kind of celebration is always accompanied by various delicacies and sweets traditionally served on this day, and for the residents, this kind of participation in food preparation is a very important moment because on this day, more than ever, they feel that by staying in the Integration House, they have truly gained a sense of belonging and security, as well as the ability to feel absolutely free to use their right to freedom of religion.

Furthermore, the attention paid to this holiday by the staff and the dedication to the residents in a way that allows them to participate in food preparation contributes to bringing them closer together and reduces their sense of absence they feel while away from their families, especially during holidays when they need their families the most.
