During the festive season, marked by the joy of Christmas, we organized a New Year workshop for children from Ukraine at the Community Center for Refugee Integration. This gathering became a space of joy, warmth, and hope, where we shared with the children the spirit of the holidays and a sense of belonging.

The workshop began with a creative activity – making New Year decorations for the Christmas tree from pinecones. Using simple materials and children’s imagination, decorations were created that carried much more than color and sparkle: they reflected effort, the joy of creating, and a sense of togetherness. As their hands were busy with paint and glitter, the space gradually filled with laughter and warmth.

During the workshop, New Year gift packages were also distributed. Although modest, the packages represented a gesture of care and love for the children and a reminder that they are not alone and that there are people who keep them in their thoughts and prayers. In those moments, smiles spoke louder than words.

The workshop concluded with songs and karaoke, in a spirit of joy that connects and uplifts. The children sang, encouraged one another, and shared happiness with ease, creating an atmosphere of genuine festive celebration.

This New Year workshop was a small act of solidarity and a testimony of Christian love in action. In a time marked by uncertainty and the pain left by war, such encounters become precious moments in which faith in goodness, togetherness, and hope is renewed. With a prayer that the new year may bring peace, comfort, and security, we said goodbye to the children, carrying gratitude in our hearts for the time we shared together.
